So quick story from this week of adventures. Walk into a patient's room, little baby, couple of days old. Mom says she needs cough medicine (she was in there for something completely different). But people get sick at the hospital, so I check it out. She didn't have a fever, everything looked normal, so I start talking to mom. While we are talking, she gets out a bottle. She starts feeding baby, who is FLAT on her back (only a couple of days old remember) and the baby totally starts coughing. Mom says, "see, she needs cough medicine." I quickly show her how you need to prop baby up to feed her, cuz she is new at this and she'll choke. Wow...so the moral, have you ever tried drinking something flat on your back??? Ya, you choke!

Annie, I need some cough medicine with my Taco Bell!
Ummm.... are we serious?
When I read these little nursing moments, all I can think is.... SERIOUSLY???!!! I can't believe that she didn't realize you CHOKE when you are flat on your back. Does she drink anything that way?
your stories invoke fear in me... are there that many clueless parents out there? one newborn cough = a need for cough medicine? scary.
People never fail to amuse me. Especially, stupid ones.
Stop it! I didn't know you had a blog. I'm excited to hear the ramblings of Annie. Good times. How's that little girl of yours? I saw her with Randon on Sunday, but I didn't see you!
